Two-Step Calcination-Method-Derived Al-Substituted W-Type SrYb Hexaferrites: Their Microstructural, Spectral, and Magnetic Properties

W-type hexaferrites were discovered in the 1950s and are of interest for their potential applications. In this context, many researchers have conducted studies on partial substitution Fe sites order to modify electric magnetic properties. study, SrYb using Al3+ as substitutes Fe3+ with nominal composition Sr0.85Yb0.15Zn1.5Co0.5AlxFe16−xO27 (0.00 ≤ x 1.25) successfully synthesized via two-step calcination method. The microstructures, spectral bands characteristic functional groups, morphologies, parameters prepared samples characterized XRD, FTIR, SEM, EDX, VSM. XRD results showed that, compared standard patterns hexaferrite, Al content (x) 0.00 1.25 a single-W-type hexaferrite phase. SEM images flakes hexagonal grains various (x). saturation magnetization (Ms) magneton number (nB) decreased from 1.25. remanent (Mr) coercivity (Hc) 0.25. Additionally, when ≥ 0.25, Mr Hc increased increase anisotropy field (Ha) first constant (K1) increasing Al-substituted soft behavior, high Ms, lower may be used microwave-absorbing materials.
